IT Consulting Dubai

IT consulting that delivers a written, prioritised, vendor-neutral roadmap.

IT consulting in Dubai is usually one of two things: vendors disguising a sales pitch as advice, or generalists who deliver PowerPoint and leave. We do neither. We deliver project-based IT consulting engagements with a fixed scope, written deliverables, and recommendations you can act on. M&A IT due diligence, cloud strategy, security architecture review, compliance readiness, ERP selection, IT operating model design.

IT consulting engagement types

Eight engagement scopes we deliver, each fixed-fee.

Each engagement below has a defined scope, deliverable, and duration. We do not run open-ended advisory retainers because they encourage scope creep and disappoint everyone. Each project ends with a written report and a decision-ready set of recommendations.

IT strategy and roadmap

Current-state assessment, future-state vision, 18-month roadmap with phasing. Includes technology, organisation, sourcing, and budget recommendations. Designed for CFO and CEO consumption.

M&A IT due diligence

Target company IT environment review for acquirers. Licensing exposure, security posture, technical debt, integration cost estimate, key-person dependencies, contract review. 2-3 week engagement.

Security architecture review

Independent review of current security posture against UAE compliance frameworks (PDPL, NESA, DFSA, DHA). Vendor-neutral recommendations on tooling, controls, and operating model.

Cloud strategy and migration plan

Workload-by-workload assessment for cloud migration: keep on-prem, rehost, refactor, replace with SaaS, or retire. TCO comparison Azure vs AWS vs GCP. Migration sequencing and risk plan.

ERP and business app selection

Independent selection support for ERP, CRM, EPM, HRIS. Requirements workshop, vendor longlist, RFP authoring, vendor scoring, contract negotiation support. Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Zoho, others considered.

Compliance readiness assessment

Pre-audit gap assessment for ISO 27001, SOC 2, NESA, DFSA, ADGM, DHA, PDPL. Written gap report with prioritised remediation roadmap. Auditor format pre-aligned.

IT operating model design

How your IT function should be organised, sized, sourced, and measured. In-house vs outsourced split, RACI matrices, KPI design, vendor consolidation analysis.

Incident-response post-mortem

Independent post-incident review following a security event or major outage. Root cause analysis, control failures, recommended remediation, regulator-ready documentation.

Why CIOs and CFOs hire us for consulting

Four reasons we are picked over Big Four and boutique alternatives.

Operators, not pure consultants

Our consultants run live IT estates the rest of the time. Recommendations are tested in production, not abstract slides. We know what works in Dubai because we operate it daily.

Vendor-neutral by structure

We are a Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider and we will say so, but recommendations are made on fit not on commission. We have recommended Google Workspace where it fit, AWS where it fit, and Zoho where it fit. Our incentive is being asked back, not the kickback.

Written deliverables you can act on

Every engagement ends with a written report and a decision-ready recommendation set. No PowerPoint deck handed over without context. The report goes to your board and survives the consultant leaving.

UAE regulatory context built in

DFSA, ADGM, DHA, DOH, NESA, KHDA, PDPL, DIFC DPL all in our standard awareness. Recommendations factor in UAE-specific compliance requirements that imported playbooks miss.

Common consulting requests

Six trigger events when IT consulting is the right answer.

M&A target acquisition

Buying a UAE business and need an independent IT due-diligence report before close.

Regulator audit incoming

DFSA, ADGM, DHA audit in 60-90 days; need a gap assessment with prioritised remediation.

New ERP / EMR selection

Replacing legacy line-of-business application; need vendor-neutral selection support.

Cloud migration planning

Senior leadership has committed to cloud; need a structured migration roadmap and TCO model.

IT operating model redesign

IT function is firefighting and reactive; need an operating model redesign to scale with growth.

Post-incident review

After a security incident or major outage, independent root-cause review for the board.

How an IT consulting engagement runs

From scoping call to written deliverable.

Fixed-scope IT consulting follows a structured four-step process. Scoping is the most important step: a well-defined scope produces a useful report, a poorly-defined scope produces a bloated document nobody reads.
  1. 1

    Scoping and proposal

    1 week

30-minute scoping call followed by a written proposal: scope, deliverable, timeline, fee, named consultants. You sign or you do not; no committed cost before you sign.

  2. 2

    Discovery and analysis

    2-4 weeks

Workshops, interviews, document review, system inspection, vendor calls. Hypothesis development and testing. Weekly status updates so you see findings as they emerge, not surprises at the end.

  3. 3

    Recommendation development

    1-2 weeks

Recommendations drafted, tested in our team, peer-reviewed by a senior partner, finalised. Options analysis included where decisions remain with you. No single recommendation without alternatives shown.

  4. 4

    Report delivery and walkthrough

    1 week

Written report delivered. Two-hour walkthrough with your leadership team. Q&A. Implementation roadmap ready to action. If you want us to implement, that is a separate proposal.

We engaged GR for IT due diligence on a competitor we were acquiring. The report flagged a licensing exposure we would have inherited, a key-person dependency that would have walked out the day after close, and a data-residency issue with PDPL implications. We renegotiated the price down by enough to justify the consulting fee 10x over. The clarity of the report convinced our board faster than any internal analysis would have.
